As many of us settle back on our cozy couches between two fluffy pillows, holding a warm cup of tea and a tray of cookies, there are people dressed in all blue rushing between home and hospital holding nitrile gloves and a tray of N95 face masks. Doctors and nurses are putting themselves and their families at risk every single day, trying to help as many patients as they can. Everyone is thankful, but how do we show our gratitude? In Vancouver, residents have started gathering on their balconies promptly at 7:00 pm to cheer and applaud healthcare workers. Their voices ricochet between buildings, echo within the city, and ring from heart to heart. Though many of us cannot fight COVID-19 in the front lines, we can combine our voices and minds in gratitude of our every day heroes.
